How do you do a "deep scan?"

Hi all.

There are options in the preferences for “smart,” “deep,” and “targeted” scans. But I can find no way to actually execute a specific kind of scan. There’s just a big button that says “Run smart scan.”

This has failed to detect obvious malware (browser redirect) on my system, so with no way to execute a thorough scan, I guess this product is of no use to anyone in my situation.

Thanks, but that is pathetic UI. The app presents a big window with plenty of room for these options (which also don’t appear in any menu; another defect).

Why would the user press an unlabeled “search” icon? At the very, very least why isn’t this a button that says “Options…”?

I have uninstalled Avast and purchased a competing product. Hopefully Avast can someday field a UI that doesn’t make its product look hopelessly crippled.

Scanning more stuff will obviously take longer.

And apparently they don’t know what works, because their UI encourages people to buy a different product.
