How Do You Have Your Avast Program Update Notifications Set?

Hi Avast Community,

Sup? Just wondering how you have your Avast program update notifications set?

Ask (Default)
Automatic
Manual

I have mine on Ask as the default. I have control of the download in that case and can decide when to update, knowing when an update is out.

On a related topic, has the pop-up Program Update notice changed since the release of Avast 7? If yes, or even no, can you post the time interval for the Program Update pop-up notice? Is it still 7 days after the activation of auto program updates? (If program updates are set to Auto in settings,) that users will see the program update pop-up?

How often will users be notified of the Program Update pop-up notice, if they choose NOT to download the program update, when the pop up first appears?

I use automatic for both.
If I’m testing a beta or don’t want to upgrade, I set to manual.
I also set to manual when I’m mostly using mobile connection.

I leave mine on the default Ask.

I leave mine on ask, however you will continue to see the pop-up’s periodically.

Defaults, ask/notify for program updates and auto for engine/defs.

(Edit) My setting for program updates is pretty much irrelevant, since I’ll typically see something posted here about one long before the notification cycle gets around to me.

I always have ‘program’ set to ‘manual’. There were a few folks last week who had it set to ‘ask’ (or notify) and for some reason they were upgraded to ver 7 without being able to say yes or no.

There’s a notice on the splash screen of avast that tells you when there’s a new program out. Plus, I get an email from CNET telling me of a new release. When a new release comes out, then I check this forum for any signs of problems :o ??? ::slight_smile: :-\ … and then decide when to upgrade.
