How do you know if you have win32 : vitro?

Pls i want to know how to know if my system is infected

Try a boot time scan with avast first :

Right click the “a” ball in the tray > select Start avast! antivirus > when the user interface loads, right click near the top left of the interface > select Schedule boot-time scan > be sure Scan all local disks is marked > click Schedule button and follow directions.

For more instructions, see :

What makes you think your system is infected ?

Win32: Vitro infects files with extensions .exe & .html.

The best thing to be sure that you are safe from this virus is to scan your whole system using free Avira, the latest version includes the anti-spyware as well which is lacking in Avast. If Avira shows your system as clean, then its only the .exe files which are clean, because Avira or Avast doesn’t detect Win32:Vitro in .html files. Therefore, you need to check few of your local .html files through virustotal.com. If these few files are clean, then it means that all of your .html files are clean. Win32:Vitro infects all .html files except those which are in zip or rar archives.

And in case, if Avira or VirusTotal.com shows any alert of Win32:Vitro, please get back, we’re here to help.

Your response will be appreciated.

No, avast has an antispyware capability even before Avira… Both are antimalware nowadays.

Vitro is a very dangerous infector. Take care.

Thanks Tech for the information. I didn’t know about it.
