My subscription lapsed by two days and no matter where I’ve searched on the Avast account I cannot find a way of renewing it. Had to change password etc !!!
Why is so difficult to renew my account from my previous subscription ?

You don’t say what Avast program you are using Avast Free, Premium, etc. ?
If a paid version of avast didn’t you setup an automatic payment instruction ?
If not, then you should have got on-screen reminders of X weeks/days remaining, etc.
If so, you should have received a notification that payment would be taken in X days, etc.

Why is renewing so difficult? I want to renew and upgrade to Ultimate for 1 year, but I can’t do this online. I have to pay for 2 years for Ultimate or just renew the Premium that I already have. Try the - Sales change order details wrong, email address given, etc. - Submit a support ticket https://support.avast.com/en-ww/contact/sales in your case select the Billing, payment, or license issues option - and then the I have a different billing or license issue and click Next and follow. Here you should be able to say you want to renew and also change product to Avast Ultimate.

In my case, I get notifications of days remaining to renew, I have been using paid Avast for years, always with automatic renewal, multi-device and for 3 years.
