How does avast decide what is suspicious?

Just opened my email and avast flagged that it had deleted a suspicious email.

I was awaiting an email which may be the one deleted. Can I find it anywhwere. It is not in my deleted folder.

This email did in fact have not only a possible virus but was also obviously a scam. I misread the Avast popup as Cumbrian. I t was in fact Cambrian
