How does firewall blacklisting work?

Some questions about the Avast IS firewall:

  1. When I add a blacklist url (or partial url such as “*.website.com”) does Avast IS only block web browsing to that site or does it completely block all attempts to reach that site, even by other apps and Windows itself?

  2. Can Windows bypass the Avast IS firewall?

  3. Can Avast firewall be used to completely block Windows 10 updates? And Windows 10 spying?
