how does one update Avast?

virus signatures are auto updated when you connect to internet…

Pondus, Thanks for understanding what I really meant in my earlier message. Yes, I wanted to know if one still manually checks for updates to the virus definitions and program, before running Avast.

Now, I’ve got another question. When try to log into my account, I get messages saying either I must go to my email and follow the instructions there, or there’s mismatch in my user name and password. Avast has not sent me any email message.

After numerous attempts Avast finally accepts my user name and pass word.
