Yesterday (February 20) I sent to avast team the example of virus which are detected by many other antiviruses but not avast >:(
Now avast has 2 new updates 715-0 and 715-1 but does not know anything about the virus.
I am just interesting: what is usual time you need to add a virus to an antivirus bases?
P.S. The virus was detected as Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Agent.bba by Kaspersky (It was also detected by NOD32, DrWeb, …)
Hello Chuche!
Every day the Avast company gets more than 4000 emails with the samples of new viruses. Some priority has letters that are sent from “avast! Virus Chest”, so you can try to put your possibly infected files to "User files section and then sent tham to avast from it (see image below).
P.s. Wellcome to avast1forum 8)
How (zipped and password protected) and where did you send it (virus@avast.com) ?
Over 4000 emails a day are received at that email address per day, I find that samples sent from the avast chest are actioned quicker as they are filtered from the other 4000+ emails.
So add add the file to the User Files (File, Add) section of the avast chest and send it from there (select the file, right click, email to Alwil Software). No need to zip and PW protect when the sample is sent from chest.
Thanks for the reply.
I had no idea about 4000+ emails per day! Poor the support team …
I sent as a zipped file with password “virus” to virus@avast.com but today or tomorrow will resent from “avast virus chest”
