The fact that it’s using a Kaspersky engine tells alot…
Hi RejZoR,
That means all certifications and a very good engine. Is n’t it?
polonus
Basically yes. Engine is not exactly as new as the one in KAV5.0 ,but yeah its KAV engine and you can expect pretty much the same detection rate as with latest KAV.
From what I see, it’s a scanner (Free) and if it finds anything,
you can pay to have it fixed or removed.
It may be useful as a second opinion…
A backup (non-resident) scanner.
Will be as good as other free ones that can be used (AVG, AntiVir, BitDefender). Detection could be good but you must pay for cleaning.
A second opinion in case of false positives. Maybe Jotti will do this job :-\
I have ClamWin on my system as the back-up second opinion and then use
Jotti as the ultimate final opinion. ;D
I trust Trend Micro HOUSECALL…
Hello, sZc. Seems we have affinity! ;D Using Housecall too once or twice a month! But avast! stays for me my best PC’s “friend” as it really keeps my system clean and secure.
Hello bob3160
CamWin showed to have three bugs recently, I hope they were patched.
It is a new trend now for hackers to launch their attacks unto AV products.
Are you aware of these facts?

Ok, I need help. MWAV detected AltNet and iSearch Spyware/Adware, but none of my programs detects it. I’ve found bout names in Spybot SnD list to check if they are not ignored. Nothing! Downloaded even Yahoo! Antispyware and it detected nothing (except my Fresh Download manager was shown as Adware but I know it should be harmless). Any comments? Maybe it some kind of wrong detection? PS I’ve used Webroot Spy Audit online tool too. Nothing. :-\
Found manual removal for Altnet:
These registry entries should be removed (if present) [editing the windows registry can be dangerous];
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Altnet
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-14627781-1401277002-153983898-1006\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder\Start Menu2\Programs\Altnet
None of them are present in my system… :-\
=YLAP=
It proves what I’ve said before. The program is a peace of trash.
It’s known as a come-on. Tells you you’ve got Malware when there isn’t any so that you buy their product.
Fresh DownloadFresh Download from Fresh Devices doesn't contain any Adware or Malware. My personal choice for a download manager is StarDownloader (FREE) available HERE
Yep, maybe you are right Bob. But I’m stupid thing and I spent more than hour catching wind in the fields… ;D
Hello YLAP,
I just seem to find the wrong programs lately, MicroWorld eScan Toolkit Utility find strange things start.exe in Win98 is a virus, invalid objects in Nero Scanner disktool.dll. It is a lure to get people to buy the program.
I did not know. Good that we have found out this.
