How to uninstall Avast SafeZone Browser ?
Do not try again to download any think without my permission
There is no need to shout.
Just asking in a normal way would do on this webboard.
It happened with your permission.
You installed avast and by doing so, you agreed to the eula/terms.
You can add/remove avast components through the control panel > software > avast > change
I’m angry about this thing too!
How can I uninstall it on “Windows 7”?
Control Panel- Programs-Programs & Features- appear only Avast Antivirus…
So how can I uninstall your browser without uninstalling your antivirus?
P.S.:This kind of aggressive promotion make people just angry, because this browser wasn’t their choice. Think about other kind of campaign for your promotion!
And I spend too much time to write this message (registration process), are you afraid about customer reviews?
and by the way show me the line in the permission that we agreed if there was written something about browser?
How can I uninstall it on "Windows 7"?I already told you how/where you can install/remove components.
and by the way show me the line in the permission that we agreed if there was written something about browser?Read the eula/terms. avast has the right to make changes to their products.
P.S.:This kind of aggressive promotion make people just angry, because this browser wasn't their choice. It has nothing to do with promotion and yes it was the users choice. The users want to keep their system(s) secure and this is just a part of it.
No-one forced you to install it.
You could have done a custom installation.
And as I said, you can add/remove components you want/don’t want.

Apart from that, the update also changed my free version to a non-free version trial. >:(
I don’t need any of the extra fluff that the paid version provides. I wouldn’t use it even if it was free.
You installed your browser without my permission.Wrong, it was with your permission as has been explained many times on this webboard.
You changed my free version to a "trial-purchase" version without my permission. That didn't happened. It is still the free version but with "examples" of paid components.
you know what the funny thing is? even though some people are claiming it was installed without their consent.
I’m one of the people who UNCHECKED the box cause I typically do custom installs. ANDDDDDDDDDDDDD drumroll please this browser still managed to get installed onto my computer.
What annoys me the most is how it hijacks all my pdf files and uses this browser as default application.
Sorry but that is just ridiculous.
For added Information, Users can install or uninstall any component of Avast using the “Custom Install” Option (Which should always be chosen when installing software! )
OR
Users can Modify or Reset there installation following these “well laid out” directions.
Change, add, or remove individual program components

Hi,
We are sorry about your problems.
I tested your scenario with unchecked SafeZone browser feature. And the result was the SafeZone browser IS NOT installed. So I would be glad if you can share your setup.log file from Persistent Data folder (Program Data\Avast).
btw. If you have set the browser as default, the browser will open also PDFs. You can change this in your OS settings. This is currently feature of the browser. I understand that some people do not like it. We will definitely investigate it in further releases.
Thanks
I had the same issue, this program installed itself, put a shortcut on my desktop. I have no use for it. So the question is why did this happen and will it be resolved for Avast Free users?
Look for Control Panel - Programs - Programs & Features - SafeZone
This one isn’t a stand alone installation, it is an integral function/feature of avast - Control Panel > Programs & Features > Avast Antivirus > Change - from the new window select Modify > uncheck the SafeZone Browser option.
Hey Tariq6.
Thanks for the detailed explanation. I too was not clear what or which control panel the moderator’s instructions referred to. Your second post cleared up the inadequate moderator response. Thank you for your explanation. It did not feel dumbed down or insulting either. Even the newbie that I am could have done a better explanation than the Avast moderator.
As for EULA permissions, if Avast business model EULA has become it’s prime source of marketing new service, they will continue to slide down the mainstream AV choice list and up the commercial product cracker food chain.
As for rude forum moderator(s). This is symptom of declining business model. Any lack of oversight on the business marks an exploitable advantage to it’s competitors.
That particular moderator has no place criticizing a user’s post, personally or otherwise. The fact that he/she would do so disqualifies them as a moderator in any forum, let alone a business.
You sir, did a fabulous job.

Only one moderator an Avast Team member has replied in this topic ‘ondrejz’
Other than ondrejz no moderators replied in this topic (moderators are avast team members) generally you will see moderators assigned to a forum at the top of the forum list.
The remainder of respondents have been avast users like yourself
1°) I’d like to know also how to delete files and Registry keys that are remaining after having opt out the SafeZone Browser ?? >:(
PC (Win 7 Pro 64 bits french) tells me i’ve not rights do do so even if i have an administrator level
2°) I also want to know HOW this SafeZone Browser installed on his on without explicit permission TODAY as there was not a new built of Avast for update, and that i’m with the V 11.1.2253 till the 2nd February 2016
Removing the SafeZone Browser as outlined above should also remove the registry keys, but it rather depends on what those keys are.
There are Legacy registry keys that are created by the OS and they have ownership (as you are possibly finding) and in due course the OS should remove them.
The other thing the avast self-defence module would I guess be trying to protect avast entries, etc. (avastUI settings > troubleshooting > Enable Avast self-defence module). But I believe that should a different sort of error message than a registry permissions notification.
I was somewhat surprised when the Avast SafeZone Browser just auto-installed on my PC upon an update I did.
I feel flattered to have been chosen to test this browser, but for God’s sake, ask first if you must force this software upon them without their permission! Thank you.
