How i solved my UI Failed to load issue.

For several days my Avast was having issues where it would would be working fine for say 3 to 4 hours then the UI would crash and give me UI failed to load screen, i can click restart service to get it to run fine again but sure enough a few hours later the problem turned up.

In my investigation to fix this issue i tried what seemed to be the only two fixes that i could find, first make sure the Terminal Service was running so i checked that and sure enough it wasn’t running, after a few hours it was still having problems even after computer restarts just to make sure, second do a clean reinstall using Avast Clean to delete the old version and then reinstall it but even that didn’t work.

What led me to the fix was the software updater that comes with Avast was trying to download Adobe Air which would come up with a failed to install message and Skype which would seemingly download for a very long time then nothing would happen, first off i thought i deleted Skype a long time ago but there it was on my hard drive when i tried to delete it i got a error message 2203 and couldn’t delete it.

So well i thought i will start with this problem first and after a little digging it was because a temp folder located at C:\Users<Username>\AppData\Local\Temp, it didn’t have system permissions so i followed this guys advice of how he solved error 2203 which also allowed me to delete Skype and allow Adobe Air to install.

So in conclusion by solving error 2203 (i will put a link to the forum that allowed me to solve that issue below) it fixed Avasts UI problem, if all the other ways of fixing don’t seem to be working for you check that link and the folder to see if it has system permissions.
