That avast notification icon is good looking but that big banner in the notification panel really eats up space in the notification bar that’s why i disabled it . but if there will an option for only notification icon or smaller banner then i will enable it

“Notification icon helps avast! to protect your device better” means, that if you turn it off you won’t be seeing any notifications about protection state etc. but avast! will remain working. I hope it is an answer to question how important it is

Well 2nd part of my question is accurately an suggestion 
actually techs answer is not 100% accurate. If we show a notification icon, Android will not shut down avast!'s background services (called “a foreground service”). Now if the icon is disabled (then we’re a “background service”), in low memory situations Android will shut down our services and protection is not guaranteed anymore. So keeping the icon is quite valuable.

this issue doesnt apply to AT, its AMS.
