I just wanted to ask - My mom yesterday encountered page which was refered by avast as being infected, but avast scan did not find anything, nor anything changed. I may seem naive by asking this but - Is it okay then? PC is working like it should, I guess I am just nervous.
The web shield or network shields are designed to prevent the malware getting on to your system by either blocking the connection to a malicious site or aborting the connection preventing it getting into your browser cache and run.
You should be OK, but to be sure we would need the full information on the alert.
Thank you for quick reply DavidR!
Well, I don’t actually have around that pop up, but it was trojan redirect if I remember. Mom said the page didn’t load and pop up came out. I just came there then read the pop up and make scan
if you have not restarted since it happend…you can right click avast tray icon and show last pop up…
click the pin in top right corner to make it stay on screen…
you can now take a screenshot and attach here…or write down what it say
It was yesterday Pondus. I turned pc off in the night. But thank you anyway. I will remember that if it’ll happen again.
Sounds like the Network Shield recognised the redirect going to a malicious site and blocked it or the web shield detected the malicious redirect (possible exploit) and aborted the connection preventing it from getting on your system (as your avast scan seems to have confirmed).
Pheeew…That’s real relief. Thank you for your patience and time, it calmed my nerves and proved how good actually avast! is. Glad to have avast!
You’re welcome.
