Hi. I renewed Avast internet security on Sept 9 2011 for one year. Worked fine. Had windows blue screen of death the other day, and had to restore to last known good setup.
After it apparently tried to update Avast yesterday if said my subscription was up for renewal.
I put in the backup disc, which said it would restore an older version than what was on the computer (v 6.0.1267) and to uninstall that, then reinstall from disc. After much trial and error, I did this. However, i lost the license in the process. I did not have it backup up anywhere. My thought was to get back to the old version, then update to the latest version as prior to my computer issue.
I have requested a paid license resend from the link on this forum. However, I have not yet received anything. I have requested it now many times in the last day, but wondered how long it should take to receive anything from Avast with my resent license. Are they closed for the holidays possibly? I have checked my email quarantine file, but not there either.
I had no problem receiving the registration email to sign up for this forum today. It came right on through.
Any advise on what to do. I am now just using the “free” 30 days to tide me over until this can be resolved.
I am fairly computer illiterate, unfortunately, so be kind to me…
I have the printed out receipt from when I purchased my subscription renewal/updgrade, with the order infor and confirmation, but that is all. Is there another email addy I can contact to help me resolve why I am not receiving the resent license key?
