How long does it take to install?

I downloaded AVAST PRO again, to try to fix some problem that is making it not open. It started to install, but now has been at the same place for more than half an hour. Of course it says to not close it, whatever I do. So what SHOULD I do?

I don’t know why it stopped working in the first place. Even when it updates and shuts off my internet, at least it still opens. Now I guess it updated and screwed itself up this time.

Remove all traces from any (previous) install av and then try to install avast.

Nope, simply reboot (if needed)

Remove all traces of av’s (including avast)
Try to install the latest avast version.

I’m going through exactly the same thing 45 mins and only 1/4 of the way through. What the hell is thing doing? It used in and done within 5 mins! I really want to turn this PC off do not want cause any more sh*t!!
