I reported five false positive. I know that they are false positive since the virus are on the CD from when I got my PC in 1997 from Dell. I reinstalled them from the CD to make sure that the file is from the CD. So unless Dell was selling PC with CD disks that had virus they are false positive. Plus virustotal reports say the files are clean except for Avast. I had a friends scan with Sophos and Mcafee and Microsoft and the files were clean. It has been over 9 months ago that I send the report from Avast virus chest. I resend it about 1 month ago since I figure it was over looked or something. I ask because when ever I open the Works program I get that it is a virus and the Rage game does not want to work since the file is missing because avast moves it to chest. I have to turn of Avast to be able to get it work or move the files back from chest and turn Avast off again. Should I wait more? How long do false positive get fixed?
Also I hear that Avast 5 will not work on Win98. I am getting a message that my key is about to expire. Can I use Kernelex to get Avast 5 to install? If not, can Avast look into making it possible to work with Kernelex?
Ok. I will do that with the email. How long should it be fixed when I email it?
Sometimes it is quick and sometimes it takes longer, and sometimes you recive a response in the mail or here if you included a link to this topic in the mail
So the avast chest does not work when you sent it (just curious about it)?
