How reliable and secure do you rate this extension? Would go to the extent of storing your bank details on their server? I guess they don’t have a local copy and all data is on their server.

The idea is good, but why should you entrust your passwords to be uploaded to a server?
So your question actually is how secure and reliable is that server.
I would like to entrust a server only with the data I want it to have and share.

Your data is not accessible to LastPass employees at all, it’s encrypted locally on your computer before being stored at LastPass – please read: https://lastpass.com/technology.php
Your data is also cached locally with every login, so even if LastPass was somehow gone the system would still work, and you’d still have access to your data.
