How to automatically add malicious sites to block list?

Whenever a threat is detected, I get the ding-ding-ding popup. Nifty.

But, is there a button, or some other way to quickly (or automatically) drop that site into the block list?

No need to put it on the block list, if it already gets blocked. :wink:

Well that particular malware got blocked, but not that site, and someday it might have something that slips by.

There is no such one click button function - If you can’t trust to memory:
You can add the site to either your firewall (?), HOSTS file or add it to the Additional Protection, Site Blocking, URLs to block.

It doesn’t take porn to land on a site that portends to supply you the information you want from google. And it’s a bad idea to commit these to memory. Google returns what it returns. The number of sites I visit are legion. I’m supposed to remember the good from the bad?

Yes. For 15 years I've been maintaining a modified hosts file. Further, I know how to do add it by hand in other ways. The problem is that there really should be a quick "block in the future?" popup, or similar option. Avast is a powerful tool providing ways of 1. detecting malware and blocking malware, and 2. blocking websites.

That they don’t connect the two concepts quickly seems odd. RIGHT AT THE DISCOVERY of the malware is WHEN I KNOW FOR SURE that I have found a website to block.

To illustrate how silly it is to try to keep these things in your head, here’s another real-world example that happened just now.

We’re about to chose a new puppy out for the family, and I wanted to see if it’s a good idea to bring kids along for the choice. This pops up under a google search:

RIGHT at this point is where it makes sense to have a message similar in intent to the following:

The URL http://www.awsaclub.com/new/puppy.htm has been black listed and will be blocked in the future. Do you wish to remove this block? Doing so will likely cause you to experience the same malware attack again (BUTTON: “Remove block”)

It said “trojan” the first time. The 2nd and 3rd time it gave me the quoted message. The 4th time (just now) Avast GUI crashed.

Getting spooked. Doing scan.
