How to block an application by name?

So here’s the rub; there’s this application that’s getting on my nerves. Calls itself stdrt.exe in the task manager, it starts up randomly, and just sits there taking up memory. I can close it and delete it, but it shows up after a while again. (It shows itself as being some Windows Media Center diagnostic thing, but, whatever, I don’t use WMC)

There are all sorts of posts elsewhere on how to delete it, but really, they’re a tad too much work. I want to just tell avast to never run any application called stdrt.exe. How can I do that?

avast dont have any start up blocker......avast is an antivirus, it looks for infected file(s) or suspicious

Have you checked to see if the application is under Startup on msconfig.exe
