How to cancel Pro Antivirus before activation.

Hi,

I recently installed Avast Free for a friend and, when they tried to register it, they accidentally chose to upgrade to Pro Antivirus. They received an activation code and there is one license listed in their My Avast account, but at present no payment is registered on their card.

Is it possible to cancel this license, as the free version is adequate for them.

I don’t understand, How is it a “Card” is involved as that would involve a lengthy form and purchase process.??

I’m a bit perplexed myself, as I thought they would stop once it mentioned payment details, but they went ahead and paid anyway. I had told them that all they had to do was enter their name and email address and it would be registered so I thought it would be straight forward. I forgot you tend to be pushed towards the paid version rather than the free, when you go to register.

If it hasn’t shown up on the “Card” then one needs to immediately go to/contact bank and put "stop payment"on that purchase.
No?

Also if the process has completed you can contact Avast
Use this Form to submit a Ticket/Request for a Refund and explain your situation and that the purchase “was a mistake”
Also keep in mind the “Refund Process” CAN take a Few Weeks to complete.

Thanks for that. I’ll get them to either mail and ask for a refund or upgrade to pro for a year, then revert back (I’ll make sure there’s no auto-renew).

You’re welcome.
