Hello.
I did uninstall the Avast Antivirus, but the folder Avast Software remains in my Windows 10 PC.
I have all privileges and owner but I always get the same message “access denied”.
Running Windows Power shell as admin is not working too:
"
“+ del C:\ProgramData"AVAST Software”
+ CategoryInfo : PermissionDenied: (wscert.der:FileInfo) [Remove-Item], UnauthorizedAccessException"
"
How can I force the total removal of this folder?
Thank you in advance.
Hello
Did you use the Avast Uninstall Utility?
https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/Uninstall-Antivirus/
As mentioned in the instructions, run in ‘Safe Mode’
I did uninstall Avast using the Avast uninstaller. I don´t know if it is the same software as you linked.
Why the uninstaller did not delete the Avast Software folder?
Why do I need install a new software to delete a folder in my computer?
Is there another way?

You dont install it you just run it:
Anyway, all security program have removal tools. Sometimes things goes bad and it is needed for removal
Why the uninstaller did not delete the Avast Software folder?
It does not remove evrything, dont know why but thats the way it is. You delete the rest manually

you already have … you said so above > I did uninstall Avast using the Avast uninstaller. <
and as i said above, any leftovers you remove manually
Hi,
In addition, the uninstaller offers to remove all avast folders, including the one you say is still there.
If it is still there and asks you for privileged rights, it is probably because you have not used the right tool or not used safe mode correctly.
Besides, in this mode, you should be able to manually delete the folder even without using the tool.
Uninstall Avast
Download the Avast Uninstall Utility to your Desktop http://www.avast.com/en-gb/uninstall-utility
For Windows XP and Vista get the Avast Removal tool from here https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/Uninstall-Antivirus/
Uninstall Avast via the control panel and follow the directions.
Run the Uninstall Utility and accept the reboot to safe mode
Once complete reboot your system.
