How to delete virus/popups a.marketsnets.com and new unwanted browser tabs

I downloaded and installed freemakevideodownload. Now I have a bunch of popups and new browser tabs that I did not open.

I went to add/remove programs and did not find freemakevideo. I did find a folder with files under Program Files. I deleted this folder.

Attached are the logs from Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware, Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and aswMBR.

I hope that my system is not too much of a mess with which to work.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Ok here are the new logs files. I think it was a good sign that when the computer re-booted after each scan, I did not get the pop up from Avast. I really appreciate your assistance.

Are you still alert free ?

So far it seems great. I have reloaded several times and no new alerts. Thank you so much!!! You guys are great. I really appreciate it. ;D

Subject to no further problems

: Keep Java Updated :

WARNING: Java is the #1 exploited program at this time. The Department of Homeland Security recommends that computer users disable Java
See this article

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

If you do need to keep Java then download JavaRa
Run the programme and select Remove Java Runtime. Uninstall all versions of Java present
Once done then run it again and select Update Java runtime > Download and install Latest version

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:

CryptoPrevent install this programme to lock down and prevent crypto ransome ware

Malwarebytes.

Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

Unchecky

Click on the link above to be taken to Unchecky.com
click the very large Download button.
click Save
Click Open folder
Right click on the Unchecky_setup and choose to Run as Administrator
Once open click the Install button.
Then click on Finish
Unchecky is now installed and will help you keep unwanted check boxes unchecked, this is a fire and forget programme

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

I am not sure who is supposed to be replying to this thread. I feel like an orphaned child.

Anyway, I searched further for a solution to the popups and unwanted browser tabs.
I found on https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2765944?hl=en&ref_topic=3227046
a link https://dl.google.com/dl/softwareremovaltool/win/software_removal_tool.exe
for their utility which looks for problems in Google Chrome.

Program scans computer.
It found (1) software to remove.
It does not identify the software. It only gives you a choice to remove the software.
I would have been more comfortable knowing what I was removing.
But, it seems to have worked.
I do not have the Positive Finds toolbar nor the popups.

My problem seems to have disappeared.

essexboy, many thanks for your assistance.

Yes I have just noticed that as well … Sorry about that, someone snuck in in the middle and pinched your fix. They were lucky the system did not crash

I seem to still have a problem with “Positive Finds” but on Chrome ONLY. Here is what I have tried and FAILED

Malwarebites
AdAware
ADW

Tried deleting my profile and adding a new one.

ALL of these options have failed. Any suggestions? Chrome is my preferred browser.
