How to Disable 5.0.462?

How can I temporarily disable Avast? I don’t see a r click option in this newer version.

I need to finally install SP III, and need to disable this and a few other security programs before I do.

Using Win XP.

  1. Right click the avast! tray icon.
  2. Choose “avast! shields control”.
  3. Choose “Disable until computer is restarted”

Install your updates and reboot.
