Im currently using the Home edition of avast and was wondering if theres any way to disable the scan of the pdf files Im creating and sending either by mail or to my printer. It seems to use a lot of time to scan these documents, mainly pdf and photos. Ive put programs like adobe and such into the dont scan list, but it still scans the documents.
Documents sent to printer are not scanned just because of this…
You can use the Exclusion lists. For the Standard Shield provider (on-access scanning):
Left click the ‘a’ blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize.
Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button…
For the other providers (on-demmand scanning):
Right click the ‘a’ blue icon, click Program Settings.
Go to Exclusions tab and click on Add button…
You can use wildcards like *.pdf 
Take a look into your Standard Shield settings…
