Many thanks for that option :). It may prove that my knee-jerk reaction was pointless. You never know.
My rule of thumb is to keep a device running as fast as possible for its main purpose, which involves having a few tab-filled browser windows open constantly for cross-referencing while using a rather resource hungry software that is indispensable for work. If the browser is slow I lose concentration :-[
