I am trying to add a printer to my computer and I am told I must first disconnect any anti-virus, before I can load the printer.
I cannot find anything on avast on how to do this. Can anyone help?
I would appreciate it very much,
Bob

It’s not necessary… regardless we post tons of times here. There is no need to disable your antivirus to install any hardware!
If you still want to follow this (stupid) suggestion, well, right click the ‘a’ blue icon and chose the last option to disable on-access protection…
Tech is right. I never de-activate avast when installing printers.
How can I permanetly disconnect Avast antivirus (free version) ?
Why ?
I recently purchased a better anti virus, but I am unable to download or use it until i delete or disconnect avast.
Installing multiple AV programs can/will create all kinds of mysterious windows errors and false positive detections
so only install one AV program, disable one can/will still create problem…
Never install two antivirus (see reply from quietman7)

You don’t disconnect or delete, you have to use the normal program uninstall using add remove programs.
What is this better AV ;D ?
