How to download Flash Player for Internet Explorer

Dear Forum,

Can somebody advise what setting needs to be changed to be able to download Adobe Flash Player in IE 8? I think it must be something in IE’s security settings…

When I go to http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and I click on the ‘download now’ button, nothing happens.

I have added the website to the list of ‘trusted sites’.

Please find below a copy of the errors on the page.

Thanks in advance!

try this link and follow the wizard
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

I added http://*.adobe.com to trusted sites and that seemed to do the trick.

Merci beaucoup for the response anyway!!

Hi folks,

Just worked it the other way around and installed FlashBlock in GoogleChrome, and will keep an eye on the update status of this plug-in with SecBrowsing extension for Chrome.

yeah…this thread is about flash player download issues ;D

Never had a problem doing it from the regular Adobe site. I go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ to see if I have the latest version and if I don’t, I just click on where it says Player Download Center and it takes me to the proper download for my browser. It’s fast and easy.

Try this:

I open Firefox and click other browser section, download the setup file for ie - it doesn’t offer anything else crap  I do the same thing for firefox.

There are only two versions, one for IE and the others/rest.

So when you go to the other versions page with firefox it offers the other version which is for IE.

If you use IE when you go to the other versions page with IE it offers the other version which is for Firefox and any other browser.

Why complicate when there is no need for that. Just use my direct links and live happily ever after.

Yes, Thanks

Earlier this week, for the first time ever, I realized I could simply download both the IE and Non-IE versions of Flash Player from FileHippo. I did that and installed both of them without any problems. Before, when I used to try and download them from the Adobe Download Center, I always encountered hassles and / or couldn’t tell whether the download / install was in progress or not.

I’ve never had a problem updating through the Adobe site and letting it use the download manager. It has always worked flawlessly.

Oh, it might be a case of Adobe not wanting to fraternize with Dial Up Users. :o ;D

ahhh—could be

The installer is few hundred kilobytes in size and it has it’s own updater, so later on it will auto-update without any need for any download manager…
