I’m using Avast on a tablet.
I’m accessing the Internet via a proxy.
This means that Avast will not update automatically on the tablet.
On the proxy set up page on the tablet I have the option to ‘omit the proxy for’.
I think if I use that for Avast I should receive automatic updates.
What I don’t know is what I should write after ‘omit proxy for’. A URL? The word ‘Avast’? :-\

Well, avast does not care much about proxy, it only uses network devices to connect to internet and download updates. There are many URLs which are used for updating, so it is quite not clever to list them all (and they are changing off course). I do not know which proxy do you use and how the rights are set, but may be your proxy app can offer a list of apps installed on the device so you can choose avast from such a list. In other case I am not very able to help you since I do not nothing about your proxy and device. Long story short: avast communicates on normal ports, so if the internet is working, avast should update normally.
