how to exclude certain dlls from virus check

i want to run a screensaver but will not run without first stopping on-access protection it always identifies the dll as a virus (Win32:Adware-gen [Adw].
which is not harmful to my computer. this is the vomba screensavers which need the dll to operate.

i went to settings/exclusions dialog box but the settings do not effect resident protection which is not allowing me to run the screensaver properly.
please advise.

Use the on access exclutions. Left click the “a” icon, click on standard shield provider, click customize button, advanced tab.

thanks. that did the trick.

To know if a file is a false positive, please submit it to VirusTotal and let us know the result. If it is indeed a false positive, send it in a password protected zip to virus@avast.com
Please, mention in the body of the message why you think it is a false positive and the password used. Thanks.
Other possibility is JOTTI. VirusTotal and Jotti both have file size limits 10 and 15MB each.
