How to fix a forgotten password to access settings in Avast antivirus.
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
You don’t say what Avast product you are using ?
Unfortunately, there isn’t one or rather an easy way to do this. The Avast Self Defence module would also get involved if you tried to force a means to bypass the protection.
You would need to perform a clean uninstall of Avast using the uninstall utility from windows safe mode. Having removed it reboot download the Avast installation file and reinstall.

I would suggest you use a password familiar to you and save a copy off-line or cryptic clue so no one can just copy it.
