Sorry I know this is a really stupid question, but I just reset my computer back to factory late last night, now I’m trying to get everything back to normal and I’m not sure how to get my avast virus protection going again. If someone could help me with this I’d really appreciate it, I just paid for it back in january
Just reinstall your Avast version and reinsert the license if you had one.

Sorry I know this is a really stupid question, but I just reset my computer back to factory late last night,if that also mean that a factory installed AV is now restored, this must be uninstalled before installing avast
and use the vendors removal tool to clear any leftover files that may conflict
General: Uninstalling a third-party antivirus software http://www.avast.com/en-eu/faq.php?article=AVKB11#artTitle
If the factory reset also re-installed the trial version of some other Antivirus,
it needs to be removed before you install avast! to avoid any problems and conflicts.
The following will help you accomplish that task:

Also, use ccleaner or something to clear out any leftovers in the registry. Sometimes some Av’s leave registry settings that fool windows to think they’re still installed. It happens mostly if you click on cancel uninstall or do something while they’re uninstalling. If it happens, be sure to also search the AV website for some sort of removal tool.
Use the links that were providade by other users.
If you had taken at the link I posted, you would have seen that this is all covered in detail.
