How to import passwords from a CSV file in Avast Passwords?

I do not want to manually enter hundreds of passwords when switching from another password Manager. :o

We don’t have the direct support of general CSV file import at the moment. Honestly, we don’t support import from flat files at all. We only support import from Easy pass export and from browsers (Chrome and Firefox)
We are considering proprietary format, but it is not yet implemented. If you can convert CSV to the chrome or firefox will import we can grab it from there and we delete it from browsers afterward.

How to import data for chrome/firefox is shown here, but for your case, you would need to convert your CSV to format chrome/firefox will accept.

Once you have data in your browser they will be imported either during avast passwords setup or later from Settings->Passwords using import button.

why is there a export ot CSV then??? you mean to tell me that im stuck and have to manually add around 200+ passwords??

Export to CSV is there for case you want stop using our password manager and move your data elsewhere.

Modifying CSV to format chrome can import is not that difficult

Chrome can import csv file with following structure

name,url,username,password
any_name,http://domain.com/,username,password

Note that protocol (http, https) is mandatory for URL field, if it is omitted then the row is ignored

You can also install our extension and capture credentials other password manager will autofill to websites so you don’t have to retype whole data set.

We know it is not ideal but we primarily focus on users having passowords in the browser which is obviously not your case.

So have you guys fixed this yet? It doesn’t seem so as I am now in the same situation and cannot re-import the csv I previously backed up. How dumb is that? Export but no import. Bit of an oversight don’t you think??? >:(

“Modifying CSV to format chrome can import is not that difficult” - but we shouldn’t have to do it should we? If you want us to use your password manager and “Feel free to forget” then you need to make sure we have the ability to restore the bloody passwords if we need to!!!

Because I am using Avast Business Cloudcare, when I log into the Avast account page I see NOTHING. It even prompts me to install Avast Antivirus Free edition. Where is the cross-product compatibility? Surely all this should be unified for Avast? Otherwise what’s the bloody point of having multiple products if they don’t connect with each other?

Every day I’m finding more reason to find another provider. Your firewall sucks. Now your password manager has sh!t the bed. The ‘Scan for PUPs’ has a bug that means it doesn’t scan for pups. Honestly, what’s the point of having your product if it doesn’t do what it’s meant to do?

And I notice your verification method seems to be intentionally nightmarish to decipher. 5th try top post this. Come on Avast. Git gud.

Very shortsighted of Avast to not provide a way to import passwords from other password managers via flat file. The suggested workarounds do not work. Guess I’ll be staying with my current password manager, or look at one of the other security suites that offers a reasonable upgrade path.
