How to install silently WITHOUT Google Chrome??

I want to install avast silently, so using the /silent switch. However i also want to install it without Google Chrome. i was hoping the /novcredist switch would do this but it still installs Chrome.

So can anyone help as to how i can achieve this?

Afaik, there is not a switch to control the Google installation.

I put FreeFry’s post here – http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=81104.15 – in my files because I didn’t see any tech-type from Avast post after that stating there was a flaw that wouldn’t allow that to work.

But I haven’t revisited this problem as it relates to version 7 and I am only posting that for version 6 in case anything there may bring on an idea for version 7.

Let me just go over this again, if it’s okay.

There was no post from an Avast employee disputing the FreeFry post on April 17th of this year, right? Can one assume that FreeFry had that figured out correctly?

And I’ve been taking a closer look and am beginning to wonder if there will be any post telling us the same procedure won’t work for later versions. Seems to me a lack of any repudiation would be confirmation this will work.
