How to know which is the Avast shield that does not activate me?

I have a 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium notebook.
As an antivirus I have installed (and updated) Avast Free (the free version).
For a couple of months, I have been noticing a certain incident that occurs randomly (that is, it does not always occur, nor do I find any specific reason to trigger it) but it is happening more frequently (although it is not always happening ). The incident is as follows:
-I start the notebook.
Down to the right the Avast icon appears with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside it.

  • I open the Avast user interface and the following message appears:
    “He’s vulnerable.
    Some shields are disabled. ACTIVATE.”

Clicking on ACTIVATE displays: “You are protected”.

That is, the notebook is initially initialized with Avast “turned on”, while on other occasions, it is initialized with Avast with the shields deactivated.

Observations:

If anyone has an idea of what is happening I would appreciate your comment.
At least how can I know which is the shield that is not activated.

Thanks!

Hi

I’ve seen this too! :frowning:
It’s happened to me approximately 3 times in the last week.
But I also have another Avast problem of websites not loading because of the Avast setting - Enable HTTPS Scanning.
This is a problem that’s apparently only affecting XP and Vista.
Note… I have absolutely no idea if the two problems are linked or separate.
It’s just strange that I have no problems with Avast for years and years. Then two problems in just one week.

The shields down on boot up problem has not happened for the last two days since turning off Enable HTTPS Scanning. But that could possibly be a complete coincidence. As the shields down on boot problem does seem to be quite random.

@ Rozea,
What tool ??? Your problem has nothing to do with the problem described in this topic.

What do you mean… What Tool?

Like the original poster, I’ve also had the problem of the shields being down on boot up.
I just mentioned I was also having another problem at the same time. And how strange it was that Avast has never given me any problems for years and years. And then I get two problems in just one week.

That’s why I said…
Note… I have absolutely no idea if the two problems are linked or separate.

My error Too! mistaken for Tool. (need better glasses, )
The problems are not related.

Hi, bob3160!

I do not understand what you mean :o

Components I have seen. When the error that I describe occurs, you can see it from such a window:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/rfctsnycuzhjyls/Captura%20de%20pantalla%202017-06-30%2007.17.35.png?dl=0

More information that I do not know how to obtain…

Ok! I’m slow today (and always). It is the “Escudo de Comportamiento” (in Spanish) that does not activate me.

Is it an Avast problem? Is it a notebook problem?

Any idea why this problem happens and how to fix it?

This should answer your question:

bob3160:
Thanks for the link!

I do not speak or read English well (I use google translate).
I would appreciate a lot if I verified that what I interpreted is correct.

What I understood was: it is an Avast problem that will be solved in version 17.6. For now, all I have left is to continue activating the behavior shield manually when Windows is started and it appears disabled.
Am I right?

Thanks!!!

Yes and you’re welcome.
