I had to uninstall Avast! 7 as I saw no other option. I messes too much with my uTorrent downloads. Without Avast, my system runs normally with good download speed, but with Avast and while downloading with uTorrent, my system bogs down and so do my download speeds.
I have realized Avast scans every single file being downloaded which causes it to consume massive amounts of CPU power. I really miss Avast as I find it to be the best free antivirus on the Internet but I cannot use it if it’s like this. Somehow, it worked beautifully before version 7. How can I make it work with uTorrent like it used to do?
Hi,
wich version of avast have you installed? Is the last one 7.0.1426?
Any other security software installed? And previous is uninstalled completely?
Can you tell to us your system configuration, like OS, CPU, RAM…? What is your DSL speed?
I used the last version of Avast as I updated it regularly. Yes, I have Malwarebytes installed but it has always played nicely with everything I’ve done. I had used avast for a very long time but version 7 somehow didn’t want to play along with uTorrent.
My system configuration of this laptop is:
AMD Athlon x2 2.3 Ghz CPU
4GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 OS
AMD Radeon HD 6650M GPU
I don’t use DSL, I think. I have a 100/10 fiber connection. 100 down, 10 up.
What’s with the verification of every post? Really tedious.
First you can try to disable the P2P shield and tell to us if the problem is solved.
Second, wich version of uTorrent have you? Is the last? I use uTorrent with a 8Mb Dsl connection and sincerely I’ve no problems.
Maybe a repair installation or uninstalling avast will solve the problems… did you update to the last version of avast directly from 6.x version or from 7.01407?

I think is a SPAM protection until you've posted 20 times
I use the latest build of uTorrent. I don’t see how disabling the P2P-shield specifically should help since uTorrent isn’t even checked in its list. I think Malwarebytes is in real-time mode. At least I haven’t configured it much since installing it. It’s not the cause of this problem, though.
I would like to know if it’s a problem of File system shield or P2P shield… but now you have answer to my question if you say you’ve unchecked uTorrent in P2P list…
Then you can answer to my question
did you update to the last version of avast directly from 6.x version or from 7.01407?
?
Malwarebytes is the Free version or PRO? (only PRO is in realtime and you can find in taskmanager the service called mbamservice.exe)
As I already said maybe doing a repair installation or uninstalling avast will solve the problem…
