How to make best use of AIS silent firewall

Hi,I am a new user of AIS.I am deeply impressed by its high quality.I find AIS includes silent firewall ,but the options seems a bit complex to me. Would you tell me how to set the firewall best in detail.Thanks a million. :Merry Christmas

Hi there,

It really doesn’t need any configuration. The Firewall is intended for smooth, automatic use. If you know what you’re doing, and would like more control, you can set the mode to “Ask” in the Expert Settings if you wish.

For the network zone, I recommend Work/Medium Risk Zone if you are at work or at home behind a router. Use Public/High Risk Zone when you connect to public networks (Airports, coffee shops, neighbors, etc) or directly to the internet via cable modem.

As for the Application Rules, this page does a good job at explaining how to adjust rules if necessary.
