How to manually add windows miracast to my Allowed applications

Avast is blocking my use of Windows miracast on my HP Envy laptop but it works if I disable Avast firewall. How do I manually add miracast to the Allowed apps since I cannot find it as a separate app on the laptop? It must be tucked away somewhere.

To add Windows Miracast to Avast’s allowed applications, open Avast, navigate to “Settings” > “General” > “Exceptions”, and then click “Add exception” to browse and select the WUDFHost.exe file located in C:\Windows\System32.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown:

  1. Open Avast and Navigate to Settings:

Open Avast Antivirus and Go to the “Menu” and click “Settings”.

  1. Access Exceptions:

Select “General” > “Exceptions”.

  1. Add an Exception:

Click “Add exception”.

  1. Browse and Select the File:

Browse to the location: C:\Windows\System32, Select the file WUDFHost.exe, and Click “OK”.

  1. Verify the Exception:
  • The exception should now appear in your list of exceptions.
