I am having trouble disabling Avast, I click the "disable permanently button, but nothing happens. I don’t want to uninstall (yet) But I do want it OFF! They took my payment for the year without authorization, and if I don’t get my money back I ‘might’ use it. But as of this moment I cannot get any response on any of my requests for help. Not via Live Chat or Phone, I have spent HOURS trying to figure this out and am extremely frustrated.
Under Settings → Troubleshooting there is an option to put Avast in Passive Mode.
It’ll just be an on demand scanner with no real-time protection.
