When I try to delete folders from an inserted usb stick I get an alert for thumbs.db.
Can I safely remove the folder together with the local thumbs.db? The usb stick has windows xp folders and files on it and the computer is a vista laptop?

You can delete the thumbs.db, which basically contains info to display the folder contents as thumbnails if any of them are images.
The file in itself can as far as I’m aware be safely deleted, it would be rebuilt if you subsequently chose to display the folder listings as thumbnails.
Deleting the file should allow for the folder to be removed.
Thank you DavidR, I thought so, but I wanted a confirmation,
