This is very annoying. When I download a RAR-file that I know contains a virus for testing purpose, Avast detects it and close my connection with that file. I want Avast to understand that I WANT to keep the file just as it is. It can scan it, no problem, but i want to tell Avast to ignore the scan-result and let me finish my download. Is this possible?
Hi Eiki. You say you have the pro version. So switch to the enhaced user interface and go to Tasks. Rifht-click on resident shield and select advanced configuration. Then come to the packers option of web shield and unselect rar archive.
Thanks mevcit! Your solution is way to complicated compared to other AV but it works. I used to have Kaspersky and then I just selected “Ignore” right on detection and Kasp. did nothing and the RAR-file landed just fine on my hdd. I just can imagine when somebody has a false positive and is almost completely disallowed to download the file. The choice to download a file no matter what Avast has to say about it must be added in future releases.
It is completely harmless to have a virus inside a RAR-file so I don’t understand why we don’t get the option to save it as we want. Programs making selections isn’t always the best.
