how to take off a computer no longer owned and add my new one to my licenses??

I bought a new computer and got rid of an old one. How do I take off the old computer and add the new on to my list of licenses??? I tried using quick connectto get help but it said there was a problem and to call… so I did I try calling but 45 minutes was ridiculous… So here I am… Thanks for any help

Simply delete Avast from the old system and install a new copy on the new system, then re-apply the license from your email…if you kept it :-\

Make sure to remove any third party Anti Virus of the new system first before installing Avast.

Don’t forget to remove the old system from your account as well.

I can’t remove Avast from the old system because an update of Windows 10 messed up the old computer and I can’t back get back in to it which is why I can’t make the change.

Format the old system and put a fresh installation of a OS on it.

I do not have the old computer anymore!!! I guess I need to talk to someone at Avast, no matter how long the wait. They will be able (I hope) to take off the no longer used computer. I know which it is according to my licenses list. Just no where on the program to get rid of it. Thanks for your advice anyway.

No, you just need to do the other things we said.

Remove the old system from your account
Install avast on the new system
Use your current license file

Go to your my.avast.com account:
https://my.avast.com/en-us/#home
From there, select the device you no longer use and remove it.
Select the device > Settings then choose Delete from Account.

This is the way to go as the old system is so messed up it will never be used again, right? And if it is, it needs to have avast uninstalled from it anyway for this to work.

If the old system is dead in the water (got rid of it) and you have replaced it, then this really is the way to go. No need to go to heroic measures to try and recover the old system and get rid of avast.
