How to temporarily suppress an alert?

Suppose,

  • you get an Avast alert several times (see the picture), and
  • you are convinced, that this is a false positive, i.e. it’s not a threat, but Avast incorrectly classifies it as a threat.

Is there a way to automatically suppress this alert with a rule? E.g.:

  • If Threat name = so and so and URL = example.com, then abort connection and don’t alert me.
  • If Threat name = so and so and URL = example.com, then don’t abort connection and don’t alert me.

ANSWER: There is no such feature (see igor’s reply), but there is a similar (less powerful) feature. You can add an exception. Avast Settings > General > Exceptions.

Thank you, chris… and igor. So, there is a similar feature called exceptions/exclusions. Unfortunately, this is not as powerful, as the feature described by me. Better than nothing, though.

I’m afraid there are no threat-based exclusions, i.e. it’s always all or nothing (plus, the site being on exclusion list generally means the traffic with that site is not scanned at all).

I have Windows10 Home and I have never changed this setting and it is off, presumably by default on the Home version. I also have my win10 installation setup as a local account, I didn’t want to be logging on connecting to a Microsoft account.

Hello,
I have the impression that he wants to know how to set an exception.
So:

edit:However, if it were me, I’d do some research to find out how to disable Windows telemetry services, which would prevent all these processes (detected by avast) from running.
I personally have W10 on 2 devices (updated) with these services disabled and I don’t have any problems.

he certainly knows about it:

The answer was already given in the other topic.
Add an exclusion if you accept the risk that this could bring.

You report it to avast lab so they can investigate and fix https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=14433.msg1289438#msg1289438
