how to turn avast off temp

I have Avast Home edition. I am having trouble entering a certain site. I dont think Avast is the problem but just to be on the safe side before I go to a help desk I want to turn Avast of for a minute or so. Can this be done and how do I do it? Or do I have to delete it completely to try it Thanks in advance Phill

  1. What version of avast! do you have?
  2. What operating system do you use?
  3. What browser do you use?
  4. What does it mean “having trouble entering a certain site”? I.e. how exactly does the problem looks like?
  5. If possible, can you tell us what web site it is? (so that we can try to reproduce the problem)
