How to turn it off???

Hi,

I use the avast! Home edition with resident shields. I would like to turn the resident shield off but not only temporary for one computer run but forever, until I again turn it on. If I turn it off using the normal way then it is again turned on after the computer restarts. How to do it?

By “the normal way”, if you mean by right clicking on the try icon, then clicking on “stop provider”, try instead clicking on “On-Access protection control”, which opens up the control unit, find the provider you want to stop, click on “terminate provider”.

As I wrote, this will turn it off only until next reboot. I want to turn it off until I turn it on again (i.e. over the reboot).

By default, it should ask you whether you want to turn the provider off only till the next reboot, or permanently.
