How to turn of Avast message in Android?

Hi,

How do I turn off the message “avast! Mobile Security” message in Android? I just installed Avast in my Samsung Galaxy S4 Active phone, and now I have a message that reads “avast! Mobile Security” and “avast! is protecting you…”. How do I turn this message off? I have no problem getting a message once, but this is staying even after I rebooted the phone. Every other message that comes upp, I can delete. But I cannot delete this message.

The message is very annoying and I WILL uninstall Avast if I cannot get rid of the stupid message. There is no need whatsoever to have this message showing everytime and if I cannot get rid of the message, I will get rid of Avast.

Kind regards,
Daniel

I feel that I need to add an explanation to why I HATE this message.

I get a message when something has happened that I need to be aware of. Like someone has called me, I have received a SMS or that some app has been updated. If there is a message there, it tells me that something has happened that I need to be aware of.

What has happened to make this message show? NOTHING. It just stays there. And the result is that I stop notice these messages, because this message will always be there.

The message should ONLY be shown if something important has happened, like a found virus or that the app has been updated. And I MUST be able to delete the message once I have read it!

Kind regards,
Daniel

Hi,

you can turn it off in Settings, but you will be less protected (especially if you have a cheaper device), so do it only at your own risk.

Hi,

Thanks. I suppose you mean change “Notification icon” to “none”. It got rid of the message.

Why do the notification icon need to be active in order to be fully protected? And why is the message allways visible then the notification icon is active? I have no big problem with the icon itself, it is the message I want to get rid of. But it’s better to get rid of the icon than get rid of the entire app.

Kind regards,
Daniel

Hi,

I’m not sure what “message” and “icon” are you really talking about, these are tied together and can’t “exist” without each other.

It’s the way how Android OS handles running application. If an app has ongoing notification (the one that can’t be dismissed), it has higher priority in the system.
