How to Turn Off Avast Access Virus Scanner Manager

February 18, 2007

To Whom It May Concern IN This Forum:

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME USING THIS FORUM SO I AM NOT SURE WHAT I AM DOING!

I need HELP! with a problem,

About a week or so ago; I had a message saying that my computer was being
attacked by a Trojen or Virus from the WEB and the Avast VIRUS Scanner had detected it and STOP! It from getting into my computer.

But NOW I have this Scanner that fills half the page on my computer everytime I go to any page any where on the internet.

It didn’t do this before this attacked happened and I can’t turn it off.
It’s real annoying to have to live with this.

It says AVAST ON SCANNER MANAGER MESSAGE:

PLEASE CAN ANYONE HERE TELL ME HOW TO TURN THIS OFF!
WHILE I STILL HAVE THE USE OF THE VIRUS SCANNER?

I AM USING MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION AND INTERNET EXPLORER

IF YOU CAN HELP ME PLEASE EMAIL ME BACK AT FINDERSASSETS@YAHOO.COM

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

First, you don’t really want your email address exposed like that.

For your problem, left click the “a” icon, highlight standard shield, customize button, advanced tab, make sure the box beside “show detailed info on preformed action” is unchecked. Do the same with each provider.

These are normally unchecked by default.

Welcome to the forum.

Dear Oldman,
Thank you for your information and I will try this and see if it solves my problem.
In this fourm is there a “LIVE CHAT” FOR PERSON TO CHAT WITH EACH OTHER.

I saw that you where online and would have loved to chat with you about this very topic.

Thanks again for your help:
