How to turn off message about scanning emails?

I can’t find a setting in Avast to turn off the annoying scanning message for emails. Whenever I get emails, I get a pop-up window at the bottom of the screen that says “Avast On-Access Scanner Message” and shows each and every email coming in as it’s being scanned. It can take up half my screen and always stays on top of all other windows. How do I disable that? I have Avast Home Edition 4.8 Free.

Right click on the “A” ball in the system tray (By the clock), click on On access protection control, make sure details are showing, Click on Internet mail, click on customize, click on the Advanced tab, remove the check from " show detailed Info on performed action." Click OK twice and your done.

You’re too quick Marc!

An old question, an old answer.

Hey Vladimyr, As slow as I type( with two fingers) I’m surprised you didn’t beat me.

I was “multi-tasking”.

By the way Avast-newbie16, that setting is NOT the default setting so you must have done some tweaking without knowing
what effect the settings change would have.
Welcome to the forum.

I can not disable the Avasta on-access Scanner message it takes up half of my screen on line. HELp!!!

Then you shouldn’t have enabled them as they are off by default.

Did you not follow the link to an old answer provided in Reply #2 above ?

Left click on the avast ‘a’ icon, click the Details… >> button if shown, select the Standard Shield provider > Customize > Advanced - ‘Show detailed info on performed actions’ this option is off by default, so it would appear you have been tweaking avast without knowing the effect it will have. This function is also on the Web Shield and Internet Mail providers so you should also check those.

See image if yours is related to this topics title about email - Internet Mail - Show detailed info on performed actions.

To get this you have to be using avast 4.8 and the new avast 5.0 has been out for over 3 months now, if your OS is supported (win9.x, winME and winNT aren’t) then I suggest you download it and install it.
