How to turn OFF the On Access Scan Message

Hello Guys,

I am new here. I have just started to use Avast due to my friend’s recommendation. I had just been hijacked by several malware lately and it disabled my Norton real time protection and i have been unable to get it back ever since. There i uninstalled it and install Avast.

so far so good but the on access scan message keeps popping up and it’s so annoying. Sometimes the log is so long that it blocked half of my monito away. Is there a way that i can disable the message but not the protection?

Please help. My eyes are getting very painful due to the constant pop-up. Million of thanks !

When do you get these pop ups? ,surfing internet?

yeah … when i surf the net, it will keep turning up … showing me all the files … it’s getting really annoying cause i can’t see clearly … as some of the logs take half of the monitor away …
:frowning: can you please teach me how to disable it?

Hi and welcome to forums.OK left click avast icon in sys tray>web shield>customize>advanced>uncheck show detailed info.Hope this helps.

 It’s still turning up … and blocking my monitor … how do i get rid of it?

never mind … i figured it out  thanks for your help … btw, i am new to avast? is it really good? which one is better? norton or avast? my norton got disabled by malware last time … i hope avast wont be that vulnerable

did you totally get rid of norton? Have you done scan on system with avast?Maybe others will have suggestions.

Is this a trick question? avast of course! ;D :P

hhaha … no it’s not a trick question … but you know what, my system is running so much slower with avast … i have been hearing great great reviews of avast … that’s why i took the bold step to chunk my Norton away … ( i can’t imagine an anti-virus software being disabled by a malware … so humiliating …) anyway, i am running on a Pentium 2 800Mhz … i tried to watch movie just now but it lags … is it true that avast clog up the memory?

No contest, there are many ex-NAV users in these forums to attest to the more configurable, flexible, avast! not to mention it tends to be easier on resources and NAV is harder to get rid of that a virus at times.

To get rid of the bits that are often left behind to cause possible conflicts, this link is worth looking at which is a program removal tool, which can remove a number of different Norton Programs:
