I use Avast free and it’s been very good.
But every time I start up my computer, avast comes up with a pop-up window that usually jsut says “all is well” but it allways makes a loud “Beep!”
I have my computer in the bedroom and often put it on right after I put the baby to sleep so this is a big problem for me since she wakes up from it. I have of course turned off all other sound (like upstart sounds) on my coumputer, but since I use it to whatch movies and listen to music, I often have the volume up high and its not every time I remember to mute it while it’s starting.
And I shouldn’t have to, right?
There must be a way to turn off this very disturbing noise?

Hello, I have all the sounds ticked, but no sounds. I use Windows XP and checked Sounds in Control Panel … there were none for Avast.
PLEASE HELP me.

Do other sounds work? Windows sounds, Youtube etc?
Anything muted in the sound volume panel?

That seeting must have moved. There are no sound option under settings. Where did it move to?? I need to turn that stupid thing off. Why is it even there??wasted 20 minutes so far looking for it. Why is the option buried? If its now mandatory, I will no longer be using avast after all these years.

Yes - They are now in the avastUI > Settings > Appearance (I know, hardly logical) > scroll down to expand the Sound Settings to see the others options.
