How to turn on Avast

I am a brand new user of Avast and probably made my first mistake. I turned off the Avast in order to install an internet connection as stated in the instructions. My memory isn’t perfect but I believe I right clicked on the desktop icon and clicked 'Temporarily Disable".

The Windows Security Centre says that my virus protection is turned off but I am unable to click it on again in this window.

I’ve searched this forum and did not find a solution fthat works on my computer.

When I right click on the icon now, none of the menu items refer to turning it on again. I couldn’t find an item related to performing this task on the Avast menu.

I would appreciate being able to turn Avast on again.

First it shouldn’t be necessary to disable avast just to install a connection and I would be suspicious of such a request and would want to know exactly it needed to be done.

Secondly a reboot should put everything back to normal (as it was temporary).

I assume you clicked the Pause Provider option ?
If so that should now have a option to Resume Provider and you would have to select the one/s you paused to resume them.

Or if you clicked the ‘Stop On-Access Protection’ option ?
If so that should have changed to Start On-Access Protection and would/should have been your option.
